Husband-and-wife photographers and filmmakers, working side by side in Southern California and wherever a wedding takes us.
The short version
We are the Shukans.
We are Jane and Kolya: a married photography and film team based in Southern California. What began with a chance meeting while Jane was traveling in Russia became the work we now share.
From the first frame to the final delivery, we create every wedding together. Photography, film, and editing are all handled personally, in-house.
How we work
Two perspectives.
One story.
Jane leads photography; Kolya leads film. Throughout the day, we support each other, stay aware of what the other is making, and give you one steady team to rely on.
Afterward, the work remains with us. We edit every photograph and film in-house, carrying the same care through to the final gallery and film.
How it started
A meeting far from home.
Jane was traveling through Russia when we met. A shared life followed, then a shared way of seeing weddings: one rooted in attention, trust, and the small in-between moments that make a day feel like your own.
